VAT Workspace

From shoebox to draft VAT return, step by step.

Invoices come in, the details are read and coded, and a draft VAT3 builds itself. Anything uncertain waits for a person to confirm. Run it on sample invoices and watch each step.

Six sample invoices, one deliberately hard to read.

What happens at each step

01Reading

Each invoice is read for the supplier, date and amounts, with no typing. Scanned paper and emailed PDFs both work.

02Coding

The VAT treatment is suggested from the supplier and the type of purchase, with a confidence level on every line.

03Assembly

The return builds as invoices arrive, so by the end of the period most of the work is already done.

04Human review

Anything uncertain is held, not guessed. A person confirms it, and only then can the draft be approved.

Review invoice

This invoice was read at 23% VAT, but the scan is poor and confidence is low. Choose the correct rate.
